Hi Leon

I use a mix of Ocean Nutrition flake products:

Formula 1, Formula 2, Prime Reef and Brine Shrimp Plus. I also use frozen mysis shrimp.

In general, I normally feed four times a day, varying use of the above.

I have a Yellow Tang, a Bicolour Angel Fish, and a pair of Maroon Clowns.

All in very good health.

Cheers Leon

All the flake / frozen I put in is gone pretty quickly. There is that much flow in there no food lies in any area to rot away.

Steve, do I rinse frozen food in RO. Nah.

Please mods, don't lock this thread. I may be guilty of neglect, but this is only a small misdemeanor. I don't drive down the road through puddles splashing old ladies either, honest.:D

Eh whats this new one on me? Wash your frozen food in R.O. ? really? never heard that one! Dont know anyone whos ever done that either, chucked a cube in frozen before a few times no probs, sometimes you can just worry and fuss too much, dont forget they came halfway around the world in a plastic bag they arent that weak!

Hi

I do agree with Leon.

I used to was my frozen with ro water but i often thought how much phospahte and nitrate is it really putting in my tank?

I feed 4 times every day with 4 mixtures of flak via a ehien auto feeder and i feed once every 2 days with a mixture of around 6 frozen foods.

Nori gets fed to my tangs most days as well.

I have 45 fish and have no detectable nitrates.

I would look at other reasons as to high nitrates:

Under skimming, too much LR, not enough circulation, poor ro water, not enough water changes, wrongly set up DSB, external cannisters, adding liquid foods, dead stock will all help to elevate nitrates.

Good luck
