Hi - its nice 2 see that im not alone ! thought some old witch had put an evil spell on my reef :D got same problem m8 - fu**ing AIPTASIA , kill one and suddenly its entire species come for a visit . have tried every thing i know except the NUDIBRANCH you speak of , so can you send me a pm if you find any and how much£ .- failing this do you know any one who has a 7 FOOT peppermint shrimp lol :D

We started with 3 nuked them with joes juice then we had about 10 tried peppermints Then we had 20 tried Kalc then we had a hundred tried Lemon Juice now we have hundreds need something the more we try to get rid of the the worse it gets :mad::mad::mad:

Eric said to get them in the mouth with a soldering iron but that would take me about 4 years:(

So if this doesn't work i'm going to have a lot of dead rock and no more tanks never mind setting the 6ft one up :D

Mine are getting to the same size as the ones in the deep at Hull they are like dinner plates :D:D:D

No 1 LFS in the UK sell shrimps from the 3 species in the Lysmata family as Peppermints - Lysmata kuekenthali, Lysmata carlifonica, Lysmata wurdemanni. To my knowledge the true peppermint (Lysmata wurdemanni) must be used but unfortuntely the carlifonica species seems to be the most common.

No 2 Would you eat tripe when you can have steak? Peppermint shrimps will only eat Aiptasia if they are hungry. Feed them fish foods etc then forget it.

Please note, making pepps hungry is cruel and may result in the pepps attacking fish, nems, polyps and more commonly each other. They can be very very nasty. I have witnessed this in numerous occassions. When I say starve I mean a day or two at most without food.

Hi Caroline the only trouble with the Nudis is that when they have done the job they die as they have no food.What i would do is put all your rock with aips on together and add a Lanula Butterfly on its own and let it do its job. Other than that you need to take the rock out and cook it in a dark tank for a few months, when i say cook i dont mean put it in with the roast its a term used to clean rock. HTH Twiggy:D:DPS also the more you annoy Aips the more they breed as they think there end is nigh so start spawning thats why you have loads more. HTH
