Just been told about this site, it looks good so far. Hope to be able to contribute along the way!
Ive had my first marine tank about 8 months now, I managed to rescue it from a widow that had just turned everything off and left it to die!
Its a jewel rio 180(i think!) with a deltec mce 600 skimmer. About 40 kgs of live rock. There was a breeding pair of tomato clowns, a large regal tang and a juvanile emperor. I was advised to pass on the tang and emperor as they were a bit big for the tank. :(
Since ive added a bubble tip anenome, a toby puffer, a box fish, and picasso trigger, a short spiked urchin, a starfish, a fire shrimp and a ghost shrimp. Oh and loads of crabs and snails! Ive started the reef with a large leather, and star polyps.
Everything is looking fantastic all the tank readings are good, so im hoping im doing ok!!!:):):):)
Ive had a lot of help from a few new friends at my local marine store, cheers guys!
So this is just a hello, and im hoping to gain the knowlege and advise to turn my little tank into somthing spectacular like the ones ive seen on here!!!
Cheers Tim.

When i first put the regal tang in he did chase him around for about an hour, but he is less than half his size!:o But since they both 'got to know each other' theyve been fine together! He can be a bit of a ****** harassing the snails and crabs, and im sure hes polished off a couple of the slower crabs:eek: I keep them well fed, always algee on the clip so that keeps him happy (i hope!)
Cheers

Cheers mousehunter, ill keep my eye on him for the whitespot! As for him getting big, im planning a tank upgrade next year when i move house so im not too worried about that, as long as all goes to plan!
Theres no real details to get excited about yet, but im hoping to buy my parents house, :D:DLoads of room for a really big tank:D:D lol.
Thanks for the advice tho!
Cheers,
Tim
Hi great pics, is that a box fish (yellow with spots ) and which type it looks great, also I have always wanted to try a trigger but always warned of as was told they eat corals etc but your corals look in top shape how long you had him.
thanks Leon,

Hello leon, yes he is a box fish, hes an 'Ostracion cubicus' Hes fantastic to watch, somtimes i think hes even drunker than me! lol:rolleyes:
The trigger has been in for about a month now and ive had no bother at all towards the corals or the clam. :D
Cheers,
Tim
