Just got back from shopping and noticed my REGAL TANG has some white spots? Any idea on what they might be and how to treat.

regal tangs are one of the worst for getting white spot, the least bit stress and they come out with it.the best way is treating it with copper medication in a seperate tank, but as we know it is very difficult trying to catch a fish with lots of rock in the tank.depending on how badly infected it is you could just leave it to try and heal itself providing it is feeding ok or the method i have used is dropping the sg down to about1.015 for about 10days then gradually raise it back to your normal level. this has worked for me without any problems.derek

In the past I've had two Regals and one Powder blue, all at sometime had WS. All were perfectly healthy and feeding well, and must say all did recover but the first Regal got it again a second time. Put it down to stress and tank size, if its got it once it will come back I'm affraid. Not nice to hear as I love Regals too but just not got a tank big enough.

I treated mine with garlic soaked food, tried best I could to limit going into the tank as much as I could too.

Hope yours recovers and stays WS free?
