do you use UV ?

is so which one

and what do you personally see as plus and negative points.

I am running the Aquamedic Helix Max 18W, i have never used one before, but it was just sat in my shed, so thought i would give it a try for a few days..i have just installed it so i am looking to see what others use, and think of UV

I just want to see if i can weigh up if its beneficial or not,,

ie, is the water clearer than usual, are the corals looking healthier etc etc

Hi some like UVs me i dont like them as i like Ozone better, UVs are ok in a commercial setup as they are 200 watts or over which has a chance to kill off nasties. Twiggy:D

HI, i dont use uv or ozone and it seems to work ok? My opinion is that its like keeping your fish in hospital and sterile so if there are any nasties that come in on a coral or fish or your uv stops working as well then all your inhabitants will be more likely to catch something or encounter a problem. JMO

When i had a whitespot break out in my trigon 350 i had a UV on that tank and it saved a lot of my stock!!!!

I WILL be adding one to my 6footer after xmas:D
