hi all need to pick your brains,i did a 30 gallon water change last night on my 220 gall system,and i also addeed my new triple 250w light unit,upgrade from triple 150w,is it normal for the orp reading to jump alot?or is my controller ******ed?i mean the jump has been up over 100 more than normal.regards mikk

Orp will jump - usually down after a water change IME.

Hi Mikk,
I would have expected the ORP reading to drop after a water change.
As to the more powerful lights contributing, I am unsure.

my orp usually drops after a water change,never gone higher.derek

done a p.h test and its reading 8.2-8.3,the orp/ph controller is reading 0.88:confused: and ozone is at 668:eek:so i feel the controller is a tad f***ed:D,just wondered do the probes dislike being fully immersed up to the top or are they a sealed unit,as the problem started after the water change where the water level in the sump totally immersed the probes over the top:owhere the wire goes into the probe

And ladies and gentlemen, this is a mick...A mick is very well known throughout the midlands as being able to destroy electrical equipment. especially very expensive marine equipment with a meer glance, if a mick does happen to pass your property in looking distance to your aquariums please be advised a form of black out curtain will be required to protect your valuble equipment
