hi can you have a spiney 1 as well as the small rock urchins i think they call them thanks and do any off these nip corals off at all

Urchins can be housed with each other. The spiney one (pincushion) and the rock (purple) are ok but they can knock over corals as well as eat your macro algae / plants. The rock also makes holes in your live rock and both scrape and eat coralline.

hi thanks james was thinking of getting them to remove some of the coraline off the rocks just dont know weather to get the spiney or the small ones lol

Spiny = yeeeeouch!!!!! :mad: :D They're useful if you need a makeshift hypodermic needle!
Small ones are juicier :D IME small ones are good at clearing patches of corraline and other algaes without being too clumsy. Once they get very large they can become problematic as they knock over small rocks and frags as James has pointed out. Great fun to keep though.

i have a tuxedo urchin that mows the coraline and does a great job clearing it, also gives a hermit or cerith an occasional ride/tour of the tank now and then:)
