brown algae

[Aqua Marine Imports]

Hi People

just found what looks like the start of brown algae on top of a peice of live rock.. anybody got any ideas why this would have started??:confused::confused:

How long has the tank been set up?

Bio load?, feeding regime?

Are you running any Po4 remover? does it need changing?

What is current reading?

had my D & D Nano24g tank running for about 4 months now, i think it's the seachem Organic & phosphate control i got might need renewing and maybe the purigen might also need renewing.
is there somthing i can get which will do both jobs?

Hi M8,

I dont think there is one product that does both jobs.

For PO4 remover, some people use rowaphos or ulitphos, you can get ultiphos from Macca, make sure you ask for the stuff that can be run inside a filter bag (I assume you do not have a reactor).

I am not sure if Macca also does purigen, but worth asking.

If he does not do it, you may be able to get it from that place in Osset (non sponser),but try Macca first.
