I have just taken delivery of a new bigger tank (60"x24"x18") :) and need to get a new cabinet built to hold the tank and a sump (48"x12"x12"). My dad did a great job of building my last cabinet and hood so he will build this one to match.

However as it is more than twice the capacity, and hence more than twice the weight, of the existing one I am concerned about the cabinet design to hold the weight.

Does anyone have any tips, design ideas, etc on how the cabinet should be constructed to withstand the weight?

Cheers,

Craig

P.S. It is a concrete floor, so that won't be an issue!

Do you have any pics of your existing cabinet? The basic design may be ok but its hard to tell without a pic ;)

my tank is 60x24x24 and was made by seabray. the stand is made from 3/4" veneered chip board with tree doors across the front . the left hand side has a cupboard and the rest is open for the sump. the sump area is 36X24" and there is a removable center suport. the back is one solid piece. lenny
