I now have my new tank cycling but it sounds like I have a waterfall in the room.. Is it possible that the pump is to powerful? tank holds 300l and the pump im using is in sump newjet 3000. :confused:

Hi i would not say its to much as you want about 10 times turnover in the sump. You can put a tap in the return pipe to knock it back a bit and see if that makes it quieter. HTH Twiggy:D:D

definately not to powerful,just turn down flow as suggested.derek

Whats on your inlet is it a durso? I added filter wool to the base where the water enters the sump to reduce the noise and it works very well:D I use a 2500ltr pump on my 165ltr tank and its perfect!

I have to be carefull where to point my nano streams as a bad aim will kick sand up all over!!! :P
