Looking good - I love watching my critters at play, they really make a reef tank come alive imo. Have had several deliveries from James in the past and personally wouldn't get inverts from anyone else now.

perhaps you guys & gals could give me some advice on my critters, I have a new peppermint shrimp in the tank (came with oher critters), however I only saw him that day and evening, two days later he is no where to be seen, checked with lights on and off at night.......should I be worried?
the cleaner and blood shrimps in my daughters tank can be seen all the time, even when in little holes in rock!

Peppermints are very very shy little shrimps. I've had one in my main reef tank for 18 months or so and have seen it maybe half a dozen times. I thought it had died some months ago but caught a glimpse of it again just the other week. Which maybe explains why I have had 7 monsta aips in the tank but have had no small ones for over a year.

I'm sure its there somewhere, they just seem to be masters at hide and seek ;)

Shy little fella's aren't they, thought one of mine had been been crab food until a couple of days ago when managed to catch a glimpse of both pepps :) . Mind you there not touching the aips :( looks like i'll have to nuke them, the aips not the pepps).

Agree with the others, they are extremely shy creatures.

I had the same problem, I bought 2 and didn't see them for weeks. Thought they had gone :(

Bought another 2 and when I released them th eoriginal 2 came out to say hello :D

So I now have 4!

yep discounts all round!!

Thanks for the nice posts. I recently sent a box of dwarf micro blues 12 off to an adrees that was given to me wrong. Anyway to cut a long story short and to keep the customer happy I sent a fresh batch to the correct address. (The customer paid for postage).

We use a PPI number when sending special delivery and this parcel finally got back to me this morning 10 days after posting

Guess what was inside??? A box of ALIVE dwarf blues - Amazing!! :D

So I can now send these critters out by 1st class recorded on small orders. Meaning I can dispatch for basic postage 12 dwarf blues including postage for around the £10 mark!! I hope to launch this shortly before the cold weather comes in.

The hot waether certainly plays more havoc than the cold (NOT FREEZING :D ) IMHO

They tend to hide a lot when they are being well fed. If they are scavenging around then they are hungry. This is the time you are likely to see them. So best time to view them is feeding time. Remember these wee guys although they can perform a cleaner service to fish are by far more at home scavenging. If you do not see them much then they are obviously quite content.

As I have said before they will only eat small aptasias and only when they are hungry.

Thanks all for thoughts I am not so worried now...May I add that if anyone is thinking of getting some hermits try the mexican red tips....James you are a star for importing these, they are so busy round my tank, forever at work cleaning the rock and sand. Ive tried the more traditional crabs in my daughters tank and these little mexican guys are far more industrious. So give them a go.
