Just the one for me, and he's big, well think its a he?
Did use to be pet shop, but yeah you've got the right store. When I went they had a breeding pair which gave birth too loads. I saw them quite young and were smaller than a 5p coin, great too see.
If your tank can take them then perhaps go for 4, better chance of a pair up?

These are getting very rare in the wild, shame more people don't breed them

Oh dear sorry to hear your news.
I used to use Reef Ranch but sadly no longer. Have been to James's shop over in Harrogate but he had no cardinals in but he may be able to source one for you?
Other than that for a few odd dry good items I use a garden center in Otley. By no means a marine shop but they do have quality fish in, and all but my scooters, rainfords and pink spotted goby fish, my tank has been stocked from there. When I wanted a Bangaii could not find one anywhere so they got one in for me.
I've also recently visited Interfish at Osset, again good shop and stock fish, corals and dry goods worth the visit for 30 mins travel?

I have heard the way to pair them up is to get about 6 or 8 and wait until 2 pair up and then remove the others HTH Twiggy:D:D

I would say so too. You could forever be buying just the one hoping it was a male and trying to pair up with the one you have. Not fair on the fish or your wallet.

Hi there,
oh no :( i'm now having problems with my other Banggai, it's not eaten for at least 3 days now. any ideas?
i was over at reef ranch just over a week ago and fund out the sad news, it's as shame as there is not many shops like that...
went over to interfish yesterday, they had a couple of Banggais but no male.
wish there was more shops like this.
cheers pudsey.

Oh no. does it look ok, no signs of infections etc..? Is it stressed at all, strange as to why its not eating so something must be wrong?
How did Interfish know they only had females in? There is a lack of shops around but in my case probably a good thing, means I can't spend more than I already do.
Would definatley reccommend a visit to James in Harrogate, give him a pm from Reef Critters thread as its appointments only for now.

can't see any signs of any infections.. not sure what to do now. my bloody crab and shrimp seam to thinks it's dead already as they are trying to eat it :(
will keep an eye on it.
not too sure how interfish guy was so sure what he had, he said he would be getting another batch in very soon.
ops forgot to tell you i found another pet shop that has marine, it's called a pet shop on York Road. have you been?
the guy's who run the fish section seem to know there stuff, they are trying to get me a male for wednesday, they took my name and number as they said they will call me. good customer service.
i will keep you informed.

Scott at reef ranch used to work there
The guy that is there his name escapes me knows his stuff but to be fair is more trops Marines aren't there speciality and I would defo research anything thoroughly as IMHO you cannot always trust what they say about Marines
Good Luck though

Ps Are you based in Pudsey
I used to spend a lot of time in Pudsey :D

Yeah I'd just keep an eye on it this coming week? You don't want to be adding any more fish if you have a problem with one you have in now Take it you live in Pudsey?

Sorry to hear that :(
Might be an idea to contact the LFS you got them / it from and explain what happened if nothing else they might quarantine there fish to stop passing anything on to someone elses tank:(

Oh no.
Very sad day mate.I wonder if the addition of another Bangaii stressed it out too much? You still going to try and get a mated pair?

OK mate yeah do so.
Have you seen Mixy's thread on his breeding pair, might be worth placing an order now for his next batch?
I tempted myself to get a few more in but just wondering how my big one would accept any new arrivals?
