Noticed today that my boxing shrimp has lost one of its large front pincer legs????
At first I thought it was dead and was going to remove from tank and then it moved. It appears ok but for the missing leg?

Will it be OK?

Super, glad he will be OK.
I wonder how he lost it in the first place?

Well sadly he's gone. Just when I thought he was back to normal apart from a limb missing he was on the bottom tonight on his back.
No movement when I tried to move him so I removed him myself. Real shame as he was a right character and will be sadly missed.

This is going to seem a really stupid question but it was the actual shrimp and not a shed as we have had ours 3 weeks and have had 3 sheds which we sh*t ourselves everytime thinking they were the real thing ?!?

I feel your pain. I found my porcelain crab dead tonight. :( He was out and about waving his fans around last night so don't know what happened. I've had him for about six months and he was always a lively little character. RIP.

Definatley the shrimp Caroline, he has shed before but sadly no more. I noticed at the start of the week that he had some how lost one of his front large legs. Not sure how but thought he might recover and he seemed otherwise healthy.
My cleaner is OK so I don't think I will replace him and James has some sexy and a pistol one on order for me.

Still sad when you have a casualty, whether fish, invert or coral.
