Ive got a copperband in my tank and he feeds like a pig (no problems at all) but someone i know isnt so lucky he has one in his tank that isnt feeding:(

My question is this would it be an idea for me to take it off him and put it into my tank so my copperband teaches it to feed? Or would world war III break out can you have 2 of them in one tank?

I know they can be a hard fish to keep and i dont want to risk mine trying to save his:(

One of my all time fav fish too and unfortunately you have to be lucky to get a good one.
As far as moving his into your tank, I wouldnt think that would help it really as it would be more stress for his CBB with moving it etc, and it could go the opposite way of it not feeding but it makeing yours stop feeding too if they dont get on etc and it causes stress with yours.

Hi Lee IMO leave it alone as it might upset yours then you will lose 2 CB, cant he take it back to the LFS where he got it from as i would not risk it in mine. HTH Twiggy:D

Hi Lee you could maybe have paired them up if you had put both in together but not apart its a big risk. Twiggy:D

i would not take the chance lee they might kill each other, its best to try putting them both in together then you might have a better chance of accepting each other.derek

actually i could do with a bit of advice on CBB's. i have had mine for about 4 months now all of a sudden it has stopped eating. no idea why as it was eating really well, i stuffed shells with butterfly mix and he fed freely from mid water, he used to spend all day picking at the rocks.

will aips sting their mouths when they eat them? i had 1 before i got coup (thats my CBB's name) and a mate had a huge 1 so i took the rock and put it in my tank in the hope that coup would eat it. just wondered if it has hurt him?

i really really don't wanna loose him, any ideas guys? sorry for hijacking the thread but it was on subject.

Hi,

No Aips wont do him any harm. Sad, but its not unusual for them to stop eating. Try as many different foods as you can to entice him to feed, cycopleze may entice him - best of luck.

just got some cycopleaze, mysis, brine in garlic, krill and some bloodworm and he refused all of them. looks like he is a gonner, do you think he may have an infestation or something similar?

Hi,

I doubt it M8, they can be very hard to get feeding :( Keep plugging away - best you can do.

My CBB was reluctant to eat at first until he found a piece of LR with little white worms on it, he proceeded to eat the lot and then started taking frozen Mysis and never looked back.

as tetley says these fish are beautiful, but have the reputation for just stopping feeding all of a sudden. happened to me and loads of others, could be worth trying small live food such as baby brine shrimp. HTH and good luck with it.

Hi i was once told that these fish suffer from worms which is what stops them feeding. You have to get some stuff from a vet and treat them with it. Twiggy:D:D

Sadly my CB has gone the same way as many others.... very thin when bought ... took some persuading to eat for about a week. he then became an excellent eater and was the bravest fish i had , swimming around my hand whenever i put it in. about a month ago he stopped eating suddenly and died several days later :(
Although i really like them i won't be buying another ...
