Further to a post I made the other day, I was saying that one of the flimsy plastic brace bars on my Juwel Rio 400 had come adrift and I was going to take them both out because they caused shadows in the tank. I was advised not to do this and, with further research, have concluded that I am glad I didn't! I'm now thinking of putting in glass brace bars to cause less shadow, but adding 3 instead of the current two for extra strength.
I was going to do this by dropping the tank water to about halfway, glueing in the new glass brace bars with aquarium sealant, then removing the old ones. My only worry is that it's quite a thin lip to glue to on the Rio tank.
Can anyone confirm that this is a good way to go about it and advise of any problems I may encounter or offer any tips? Also - what should I do about this thin lip to glue to on the tank?
Any advice much appreciated!
thanks.
