Hi,

Nice, hard to beat a well planted Trop tank. :):)

What is current stock? (Can see the tetra's - nice)

How does he feed plants?

he does a weekly water change and feeds the plants with a food stick pushed into the gravel at the base. He switched the substrate from sand to gravel which Chris at MT ordered in for me. it's a "black quartz" although it's more greyish white than black :D

cant quite remember his full stocks but there are cardinal tetra, whiptails, boatiers, various corydoras (panda, swarzai etc), zebra plecos, rummynose tetra. probably loads i've missed :D

update on the trop tank from last week. Lights have been changed to dennerle tubes, better growth & less unwanted algae so i'm told :) plants have grown a bit, couple of new ones added.

I like it! :)

Once I have moved over to my new bigger tank, my current marine tank is going to be moved to teh hall and set up as a planted tropical with nothing but angels and tetras.

Very nice planted tank. As much as I love my marine tank, I still miss having a tropical tank, also MUCH cheaper ;)

Ive got 2 trop tanks as well as a marine, but it pales into insignificance against marines.:o

I know what you mean. Its the breeding of the tropical FW that I miss. My bangaiis spawn every month or so but the young just get gobbled up by the rest of the tank. When my lad gets old enough I'll use him as an excuse to get another fw tank :)

Looking very nice, your dad must be very pleased with what he has achieved. With all my recent probs I'm seriously contemplating FW trops again, but you just can't get the same colours :D
