I spotted this creeping round my tank last night after lights out. Any ideas? Chiton, nudi? Sorry the pics aren't great.

Looks like a match to me Jenny. Good find.
I never even knew you could get a slug with a little shell on top!

Me neither. I don't know how long he's been in my tank. I bought a small piece of rock a couple of weeks ago, so suspect he hitchhiked in that. And to think I had my hands all over it! Yuk.
On the positive side, at least he seems to be an algae eater so will keep an eye on him.

Hi Jenny,
I saw one of these for sale in a LFS IIRC it was about £8.00 for a 4" specimen, I think it was one of these maybe wrong,

I've read a few of the questions/comments on the website and it seems my little guy is indeed an Elephant Slug, Shield Slug, Ducksbill Limpet (Scutus sp.). Aren't I just the lucky one? :D I just hope he doesn't grow to 12 cm as it implies on the fact sheet.

Wow. That makes my piece of rock pretty damn cheap then, although mine is only about an inch at the moment. I just hope there aren't loads of babies lurking around. ;)

Another pic of my little monster. He's out and about a lot now getting what he needs from the rocks. Quite a handsome feller I reckon.

Hi Jenny you will have to start a breeding programme, at £8 a pop you could be on a winner. LOL:D Eric
