MY pair of chromis are breeding again Yipee!:D hopefully this time the cleaner wrasse doesn't eat all the eggs:mad:.
was woundering if the alk would have triggered this? if my memory serves me correctly the last time i dosed "reef builder"(bout 2 month ago) they bred then and where laying eggs for about a week. coincidence?

Hi John it could have been the trigger for them to spawn,as most fish do when there is a change in the water make up. A friend of mine used to breed tetra's and he used to dump a load of cold wter in to trigger them. All the best with them and keep us updated as to how they go on. Eric:D

will do:D they should hatch in 4 days but i expect theyll all be eaten by then:mad:
also found out that its the male that lays the eggs:confused:

Well theres 6 eggs left stuck to the glass:mad: I hate that cleaner wrasse.
the chromis is gaurding that area like mad and so are tha clown fish:eek:
maybe she desperate to have kids but cant so she become nanny to the chromis eggs:D:p

its quite possible it could have triggered the spawning,lets hope the cleaner wrasse leaves them alone.derek

All the eggs are gone cleaners wrasse has a full belly :mad::mad:

Everything else is eating them now even the turbo snails:mad:

why dont you get a small tank and just remove the eggs into it, no need for skimmer just a small powerhead or even an air line, and a heater. T8 light would be fine also.
Then just do 25% water changes everyday. To compensate for all the uneaten food you'd be feeding the babies.

they always lay there eggs on the silicoln so its kind of hard to remove them, I have thought of make a false corner from 2 lengths of glass silicolned together and then removing it to a seperate tank.
