Hi, went to an aquatics centre on sat,at sandtoft. The tanks were awful one had a dead yellow tang in that looked like it had been there for some time. It was in with a shoal of blue damsels.
There were coral tanks too, these didnt look too clever either, im new to this but even i could tell that there was something wrong!! I told someone about the tang but it make any difference!
On the other side he had koi ponds,OMG what a difference these were pristine. Why cant they look after both sides of shop the same ? or better still give up the marines as he clearly knows naff all about em!!
Sorry about rant ,but this really upset me.:(
Cant mention name of shop on here as they not sponsers.

they should stick to what they know best, obviously he is prob well up on koi nut the amount of places that try and do everything and then fall down on a certain section is frightening.

Hi I agree some seem only to look after certain sides of the biz usually the one thats making cash if they looked after all the same all would make a return,

I agree ive seen so many garden centers fall short like this!!!! If they want to sell these wonderfull creatures they should hire the staff that knows what they are doing!!!!

I know where you mean Lilyann, the tanks are an absoloute disgrace. I have told the woman who works there that looks like the only one not at school, and she said the manager was happy with the setup!

its not right the place should be reported its no different to cruelty to other animals the fish travel all that f-ckin way from there habitat to die like this it really p-sses me off sorry about language but it riles me so much these people should know better , or is it that they make so much money on things in the places that they dont give a sh-t

I know this place. I got quite a lot of stuff from there when I was setting up (eg live rock) as it was my nearest marine stockist. I did get my yellow watchman there a while ago and more recently I took pity on the gorgeous red eyed wrasse looking lost on its own in a tatty tank. So far so good with both fish but I don't patronise them any more as I agree that their setup leaves a lot to be desired.

quite agree this goes on in most of these places, because nobody knows or cares about the marine side of things.why dont they just stick to fresh water because most of these are are usually kept ok.derek
