are these what you recommend? http://www.reefcritters.co.uk/product.php?productid=16137&cat=272&page=1 Yes these are the best hermit crab IMHO for a reef setup. They are recommended by Leroy (Garf web site) in the US. http://www.garf.org/reefjanitors.html

They are a Herbivore in they natural environment unlike blue legs and red legs that are Omnivores. For this reason we strongly recommend if you wish to keep dwarf hermits. With all crabs they are opportunist eaters especially if under feed. Unlike most LFS who list these crabs as completely reef safe we would like to label them low risk! We stock this species in our own setups.

Hope this helps

These mexican hermits are fantastic for a reef tank.
They are all that has been mensioned and more.
They eat hair algae and cyano. They also will not take your new turbo snails out of their shells as most other hermits , so there's no worries at all. Personally in your size tank i would start off with six of each once all your params are ok.
Hope this is of some help,
Regards Chris

Spot on Chris, I totally agree. When introducing any livestock to a new setup do it slowly to allow your filter to biologicaly handle the nitrogen cycle and build up on good bacteria. 6 would be a nice number along with your snails on the glass panes should keep everythinh in check. IMHO I would always buy Trochus snails over astreas. Again 1/2 dozen would be ideal. Please dont introduce the snails until there is enough natural algae (diatoms) for them to graze on. Unlike hermits they can be hard to feed manually. Also Trochus nice do not like salinity swings so make sure this is kept to a minimum and allow for a 4 hour acclimatisation (sp)

Indeed, make yourself something like this:

Plenty of ways to make one cheap. a 2L coke bottle, some airline tubeing with a valve so you can let the water drip out.
