my pair of clowns hosted my anemone last night for the first time.
Ive had them for 8months and a purple tipped malu for 4months . After a few month i gave up on the idea they might host it so i bought a anemone crab .
the malu has grown rapidly and is now about 8" diameter and both the clowns and the crab seem happy .
sorry to post, i know its not big news but im a happy chappy and if you are one of those waiting to see if your clowns will host maybe there's a bit of hope still :)

yeah it's wierd how they all of a sudden just decide to give it a go. mine used to host a toady. then shazam! they ended up in the nem after nearly a year, now they go from nem, to toad, to other toad, to hammer to shroom, but always back to nem.

sorry about the quality as its from my phone but better a small vid than my cruddy camera :)
dunno if you can make out the anemone crab , hes more than doubled in size in the 2-3months ive had it and it loves to steal the food which is meant for the anemone too although the last few days ive seen the clowns cleaning the mouth of the anemone.

nice, congrats!
I didn't know clowns take time to host their anemone
I thought when you put an anemone they just jump into it, lol.
Thanks for the info!

Some Clowns never use a Nem as i had a pair of Black and White and they sat on the powerhead all the time, tank bred fish are the ones that are more reluctant to use a Nem and some will use a leather softy all there life. As Nems are very delicate and live for 100s of years in the wild you will be better buying a softy leather for them than a Nem.Twiggy
