Hi all,
Only me again.
I have spotted some algae growing and I think it is Bryopsis Plumosa. Could someone confirm and possibly offer tips on ridding my tank of this tricky fern?
Hopefully before it gets out of hand. :-)

Many Thanks,

After lots of reading, I am positive it is the fully fledged Bryopsis.
I have managed to keep it steady so far with a combination of phos remover and hand picking. (with extreme care of course)
I would lose a lot of coral if I took the rock out so I am about to embark on the Tech M removal method first.
I know this has differing results but lots of reports are encouraging.
I will be starting it next week so will keep you informed of progress and take some piccies IF it works.
Keith.
I got some of this, I just keep ripping it out before every waterchange and try not to over feed.

Hi all,
I feel that I must keep you informed of the progress.
I started dosing magnesium (TechM) on 31/1/12.
Here is my bryopsis:
13873
I continued to dose and raised the mg level to 1700.
75ppm per day rise was what I aimed for.
This took much more product than I expected but once saturation was reached it was easy.
It has been just over 2 weeks and this is the same rock now:
13874
I think we will all agree that this is a massive improvement.
We will see....Not convinced but, hey ho.
The clean up crew loved it when it was on it's way out.
I have seen no signs of stress although my sg has had to be lowered on several occassions due to the excess sg (Mg) and my snails have slowed down but, no losses.
I am going to keep it in the 1500's for the next couple of weeks and see what happens,
I have to say that all corals look remarkably happy.
Currently,
mg=1690
ca=360
sg=1.025
p04=0
Dkh=12
Thoughts?
Keith.
what about corals,my mag got near 1600
and my turbos got lethargic falling off
the glass.they died soon after even when I
put them the right way up, after three days
I started to do water changes to get the levels
back to normal but by then it was too late,I lost
five of them.dont know if this is due to the fact
I am also running a zeo system or just bad luck.

Yeh, I have been worried sick about the same but so far so good.
Here is a FTS.

No bleaching so far and all is well.
I am testing ALL perimiters daily and adjusting accordingly.

Yeh, Had it at the bottom for the longest time.
Just moved it up to the top last week,
hoping for a split..
Y ya ask?
Mine really hated the rise in mag, took ages to come back

Mine has not really done anything different.
I'll keep my eye on it,
Cheers m8.
oh and if you want them growing well get some
D&D LPS feed,they love it and I think they are growing
slightly faster.not the fastest growing thing in my tank.
started with five heads a year ago and now have thirteen heads.
