Picture of the Month Competition

As the quality of photography on this board is exceptional, imo, we thought it a good idea to start a Picture of the Month comp. The idea being that we are voting for the best picture to have been posted over the last month. It can be of anything related to keeping marines. The winning picture each month will be given its own post in a new sub-forum with a wee note from the photographer of the kit and technique used to capture the moment. Hopefully this will become a useful log of hints and tips as well as somewhere to drool over outstanding photos.

So, here are the rules which for the sake of uniformity, are based on the TOTM competition as drawn up by Mr Teee:

1. Post you nominations for picture of the month Mar 07 in this thread chosing from any pictures posted by members over the last month. Include the name of the photographer, picture and a link to the thread where the picture was originally shown.
2. Nominations can be your own picture or someone elses.
3. Nominees must have 75 posts or more.
4. If the picture you wish to nominate has already appeared in this thread, simply state that you wish to vote for that picture. There is no need to repost the pic and the link.
5. Nominations close in 3 weeks. The person with the most nominations will win.

As with TOTM, I will do regular updates on who has been nominated, so you don't have to trawl through the whole thread to look.

So...get nominating already :p :D

Seemed a bit cheesey to nominate one of my nominators pictures :o (many thanks BTW, I really am chuffed to bits :D ) so................................I'd like to nominate this from Zeus. Lovely picture and a superb fish :)

Sorry, sorry :o :o having actually read the first post properly I can now see the "over the last month" bit :D

This makes my original choice invalid so I'll go with this one, purely on the sharp detail and the good depth of field which I know very well is difficult to get :)
I like the detail on the lightinng too with the top tentacles looking almost transclucent and the colour really showing up in the lower ones :)
