Lovely photos of your tank great collection of corals. Thank you for sharing them.
Clare :D
Quality as ever FJ. :) :) FJ, what are your thoughts of a 3"+ sand bed in a reef system with no sump and few fish, normal amounts of liverock, good waterflow, skimmer etc. Lets say it's a 300ltr tank. I know you are a firm believer of sand, and you have a longer understanding of it than most. :)

Cheers guy's!:)
To answer a few questions...
I run a Deltec PF 509 calcium reactor but have to top up once a month with calcium chloride to maintain levels at 450ppm.
The unit is a wee bit small for my reef but it will do for the meantime.
A 3" DSB will be fine in your main tank and will perform very good denitrification maintaining nitrates at very low levels.
It always makes me laugh when people doubt DSB's as nature has been using this method for millions of years and hasnt done too bad!;)
I have only been using my DSB for 8 years and i am still waiting on the big "crash"
I never feed it, stir it or mess with it ever.
I just let nature do what it does best.
The scaping is done in every way to get away from the wall of rocks look that most tanks have.
No LR touches the glass sides of the tank and i use around 40KG in a 6'x2'x2'.
Utilising 3 DSB's allows me to have less rock in my main reef, more fish, feed lots and keep parameters well within requirements of SPS.
It's not hard and there is no magic formula:)
Cheers again

Thanks for that FJ. I needed that :D :D I always get a bit worried when there are many that don't like them. I just need a bit of security every now and then :) :)
