***I have closed this thread before it turns into a free for all. I will leave it open for now but I will make James aware to see what the position is on these type of threads, but my view is we can not allow it.*** Ian.

I thought it would be a good idea to set up like a Watchdog of the Marine Aquatic World, where people can name and shame bad LFS where they have had bad experiences.

Would anyone like to share anything ????

I guess I go first -

I orderd a custum built tanks from these guys sevral weeks ago, 1 - 60x24x18 and 1 - 48x18x15 (sump) with 4 compartments.

Was suposed to be delivered on Monday 4th - ONLY after I called them on Saturday they tell me tank isnt fully cured so will be delivered Today, I call them this morning and answer I got is Sorry will be Friday now.

Im making the cabnet myelf, and when I asked them for exact measurements of the tanks in cm do you think I got a response ??? NOPE

This really annoys me as I cant make the Tank Hood yet and have to wait

Not sure on his policy on naming and shaming

Hi Mike. Its not a wise move to name and shame for the simple fact that the board Administrater ie James is liable for any remarks said about the persons mentioned not the person who has said it. You can on the other hand keep it to PMs to let other reefers know if you see they are having any problems with any retailer. HTH. Eric.

As Eric says, unfortunately the legal ramifications of naming and shaming can be quite serious. I know of at least one board that was sued for something a poster said. Wished it was otherwise though.

That is another reason why it is a good idea to use board sponsors so if you have any problems, you can go to the board admins for help/adjudication.

We can, however, give good reviews as I'm sure no-one would mind that ;)

A Retailers point of View
This could jeopardise the entire site and someone could get sued for slander. With all due respect to customers sometimes retailers can't keep them happy no matter what they do. I have even been around to peoples houses to help them with their problems and not charged them! Some of these people still can't be kept happy. It then becomes a matter of opinions that are not fact and can put someone in a very sticky situation.

All you customers out there please be aware that business people have to make decisions on a daily basis that they would not have to make if they were not in business. It is a matter literally keeping their families roof over their head. If a retailer makes bad business decisions or makes mistakes he looses out. If people make mistakes at work they still get paid at the end of the month! Very few in this industry make a mint. We sell marines for the love these animals and reasons of conservation. That is, to help the hobbyist by providing the very best information to conserve the animals they keep. This is usually done for free.
