I bought a pair of percula clowns about a week and a half ago and the smaller of the two, which I presume was the male died. Can I add another one or will they scrap? Also what is the best method for sexing clowns?

First step i'm guessing is to find out if there are any reasons that it died.. What stock have you got and how long has your tank been running?

Reason it died was due to heater failure, lost a pu55y coral at the same time :( Got some more reliable heaters and temp controller on the way so I don't keep worrying about the temperature!

if you want to add another make sure it's smaller than the one you have left with. hopefully they won't have sorted out the sexing within the week and half, but just in case go with a smaller one.

As above get a small one for sure and get the same breed/colouring. Its not always the case that the old one will accept a new one but this is the only way to reduce scrapping

Cheers for the replies! I thought it might be the case that I should try adding a smaller one, I was hoping that since the other one hasn't been in the tank too long it shouldn't be as biggsy as it would if it was a veteran in the tank!
