Hi guys, basically just bought 3 x peppermint shrimps from LFS as they were 3 for £30.00 so thought this was pretty decent!

my views are that they are true peps after some research however would like a second opinion

My guess is these are Lysmata.boggessi due to the near perfect horizontal bars.

damn... so are these something marked up as them? i said to them are these true pepps etc etc - they agreed twice ... disaster :( what does that mean?

My guess is these are Lysmata.boggessi due to the near perfect horizontal bars.

don't think it means anything tbh fella, they are still cool, and look like peppermints to me, but don't doubt they may be false.

Keep us posted about whether they eat aiptaisia and if they touch anything else.

dont worry most LFS dont know the difference, thats the bad news, the good news is there are almost an identical species to the true pepp, just not quite the 5 star label.

reports are good on this species, if the wurdemanni gets a 5 star these guys are a close second. at least they are not californicas that are also sold as true pepps.

depending on species of lysmata michael. some species can run riot in a soft coral tank.

no probs, remember these are good guys with a good rep so bare with them as they seem to be getting good reviews from the states and even being breed commercially.
