Just completely cleaned out my tank as it was an ex-display, whats the best cloth/cleaner to clean the inside before I add stuff?
Also how do you all stick your rock together? I bought a Kilo of base rock as it has lots of holes and retreats but I wanted to make my own structure any idea what silicon glue I could use?
Cheers Dave

For cleaning the tank I use vinegar and luke warm water, to stick rock I used aqauscape epoxy which you can get on e-bay cheap. Stewart

Thanks dude. white vinegar or the brown stuff? I may nip to my dealer and get something, getting dead impatient now. Not even sure what to have as filtration :/

I use white but only because it's easier to get hold of. Shouldn't matter just make sure you rinse well. Vinegar is great for soaking/cleaning pumps etc too, better than scraping as that will damage equipment slowly but surely. Read well on filtration options here but please remember patience is a virtue - haste costs mega bucks and heartache! Stewart

Not even sure what to have as filtration. Your live rock will give you all the filtration you need, just add phosphate and nitrate remover and a bag of carbon every other week. Twiggy

sweet guys thanks a lot, should I get the phosphate/nitrate sponges or buy the pellet stuff? Would be greatful if you could suggest some ebay links that would be great buys. I read up and it says NO PHOSPHATE = NO ALGAE but i kinda want all the pretty colour'd stuff on my rock so would u advise it?

Coraline algae will happen naturally (purple) with your calcium level. I use rowaphos so google or e-bay that and you can read up on it and see prices but for the granular stuff you need a reactor which isn't cheap. There is a sponge variant but I haven't tried that so can't offer an opinion. Read thru some old threads on here because there are alternatives. Osmotics sponsor on here and have a variant too. Get reading my friend and dig thru articles on the specialist part of this forum. All the ideas/advice you could possibly need is available on here. Stewart

Okay mate thanks a lot !
was just gonna add about sticking rock together,
you can also drill small holes in the rock and join
them using acrylic rod like I have done in my tank.
