Are these good fish to have in a relaxed (fish wise) soft coral reef tank? My wife says we must have a yellow fish in our tank, and I don't want to risk a yellow tang due to possible disease. Thanks

Hi,
I used to have one, it was as good as gold in my tank, which at the time was a mainly softie tank.
Some of them are prone to nipping at soft corals, depends on the fish, but I guess if happy and well fed it should not bother any softies.

Hi Tom. When you say you dont want to risk a YT due to a possible disease, what is your meaning on this is it because you tank is to small etc.:) Eric

Thanks for the advice, my tank is 50" x 22" x 24" (Tall) and hold approx 100gals. I have been told this is probably too small for a yellow tang?
For you guys who have the well behaved Lemon Peels, what sizes are your tanks please?
Thanks :D

Hi Tom Your tank which holds 100 gallons will be large enough for a Yellow Tang if you prefer one over a Lemonpeel. HTH. Eric

Thanks for that Eric, I might go for one then. Heard a lot about them getting whitespot, but they would fit into the not eating soft corals bracket so that is a BIG bonus. :D

Hi Tom The YT is no more prone to WS than any other fish, when you get one make sure its the last fish you put in as they are very terrotorial and will give any fish a hard time. HTH. Eric
