Hi everyone,
After a great 1st Yorkshire Reef Club meet and meeting a few people from this board I thought I’d come over and say hello.
My tank is a 125g 5 x 2 x 2 with a plenum sump, mainly s.p.s with a small selection of common fish. The tank is 2 years old on the 1st September.
Cheers

Thanks for the welcome everyone.
For some reason I’m getting a 403 or 404 error when I try to log to the site at home :? so I’ll have to transfer some pictures to my works computer.
In the mean time here’s my current wallpaper from the works pc.

Sounds like a good setup! Better than my 40gal anyway lol.
Yep the more info the better. That’s a good size plenum, how are you finding it?
Thanks
Simon

This being my 1st Marine tank I’ve nothing to compare a plenum with. However it does appear to be an effective low maintenance filter (Would only recommend it in a sump).
Only had one issue with it failing which was down to the addition of kalk causing it to solidify and presumably kill off all the anaerobic bacteria, this caused nitrates to rise from about 1 to 25 ppm. Kalk is now added into the return pump compartment of the sump and clumping issue does not seem to have returned.

Nice 1 Harrison. You have got clued up in such a short time. Where do you get most of your info from and who is your local LFS?
It shows that you are getting good advice!

Cheers Chris,
I think like all of us I’ve still got an awful lot to learn. However I am blessed with coupe excellent LFS’s. Got Roy Meeke @ Interfish who seems to have more experience than most & Chris @ Reef Ranch who seems to know the reasons why.
Other than that the usual mags, books & net.
Cheers
