Well, been a bit quiet since I decided to take up the salty fishes again, so I thought I would start up a new tank thread.

Tank is going to be a D&D 24G nano. Apparently they are getting phased out now, so will be getting harder and harder to get hold of. Although I liked the look of the 28G with the halide, the idea of also getting a chiller put me off a little.

So, with the tank sorted I would just need a skimmer. Plummed for a Deltec MCE300, as I thought an MCE600 would be overkill. I would have loved one of the next generation cone skimmers, but I though for a 24g on a budget it would be a litle silly.

Lighting is going to be the standard 2 tubes for the sartup, but I will be getting a DIY LED setup rigged up in a couple of months time.

All that should set me in good sted to keep pretty much anything. I have toyed with the idea of using zeo again, but, tbh the idea was to keep it as low mainenace as possible.

Stocking...... had a few thoughts around this, and I'm still undecided. Coral wise, I would like some nice LPS around the lower regions, slowly moving to some little sps frags the higher up the tank you go. I like the idea of growing everything, so most things will be starting off as frags.

Fish wise, I think I will be going for small (obviously!) but rare/unusual, goby shrimp combos,(maybe) pipefish. Stocking will be toward the heavy side, but the filtration should be upto it. Unusual inverts will also be on the menu.

Thats my intention anways, stay tuned to see how it pans out over the coming months.:hurray::hurray::hurray:

MCE 300 out....... MCE 600 in :)

If anyone wants to buy it, it will be £70.

Work starts on the cabinet under the stairs on Friday. Will probably make the arrangements to have a sump plumbed in at a later date too (knowing what I'm like....)
