well after selling my last setup a few months back i decided that i definatly still have the bug and after a weird dream i had something clicked in my head,i just had to have another.so after a bit of searching i found an aqua medic anthias 120.so here i go again, first port of call i think is to make a new stand as the tank and stand are in beech and i want it finished in black and the old stand is full of holes.

 Once you have the bug:48:

Just a thought but while you have the tank/stand empty could you take the stand apart, fill the holes and then cover each piece with a black wrap-it used to be called fablon i think. It would save building another stand and more cash for your fish!

yes its fablon, its great stuff,b&q sell it so do wilkos, its what i've got on front of my tanks for same reason, with wood had holes so i filled them and covered it all up.

its going to be a reef and hopfully a very nice one.
yeah i was going to make a new stand to get the biggest sump i could to fit but i am interest in this "wrap it,fablon" what is it.
does anyone know how easy it is to get the beech trim of the tank.
besides the above pretty straight foward water, rock, fish and loads of coral it comes with twin 150w halides and t5 actinics, turboflotor and a or3500 and or6500 don't know which to use yet.

well things are moving along slowly as i am having to redo the whole living room, which is'nt easy.decided to make a new stand using stainless again.the tank is sat on the kitchen table at the moment so the misses is'nt happy as we car'nt have our tea on it.also been redoing some electrics and strenthening under the floor.

looking good, i'm fortunate to have concrete floors so weight issues are not brought into the equation. electrics are though so when i redo my back room next time round having extra sockets put in for my tank.

thanks clown
i found last time i could run my entire reef with everything you could thing off at one point on a single double socket and 4 extension leads giving me 24 socket outlets.
yes these joists are a right pain.

24 sockets, bet the electric board loved you, lol. i currently running 2-four way extensions, once i redo the electrics in back room gonna have 4 double sockets linked upto their own mcb, will also build a RO unit under the tank, with a feed from the bathroom piping and a outlet valve into the back garden. just waiting for the funds first as i need to take a wall out & get a new boiler fitted before i can do any of it.

sounds good plenty for you to be getting on with.always the funds that spoil the fun.

couple off questions, has anybody ever drilled another hole in the wier box of an anthias as i want the twin pipe system but there is'nt much room and also i got a d+d ro unit with the tank it has the old flush type flow ristrictor which is a 300 and a new one, thing i don't under stand is if you look up 300 rated flow ristrictors there only rated to 24gpd membranes but the smallest d+d do is a 50gpd ro unit so what going on there.
polished the stainless steel stand this week so now its at the joiners getting some black gloss wood.i post some pics when i get it.

Hi Mazza you need to put some damp proof membrane between the top brick and the floor joist as water will wick up the bricks and rot your floor joist You can get it off a builder mate its what they put in between the bricks on the bottom course for a damp proof. Twiggy

yeh thanks eric was going to do that when i finally pack the floor with stainless steel packers.i left them bricks 1/2 shy to let cement dry first so there not actually resting on yet.but on another note can you tell me any thing about the flow ristrictor

took the side and back trim off so i could paint higher than the trim,as the bottom of the trim is visable when full.
