Hi All

After a few bacterial / parasite problems which was treated with "Kent Marine RxP Parasite treatment" most fish have recovered very well. All in tank seem very happy apart from my Royal Gramma, he is very scaley and has little white dots on him and his fins. Today noticed he has a turquoise patch on his side which to me looks like some kind of rotting.

Any ideas?

the tail suggests hes close to the end, its a shame you cant get him into qt and treat him, although he may not survive it anyhow, theres a chance he could pull through, but imo a slim one.

try to get some decent quality food into the tank so he can get nutrition and it will give him a chance

&I feed Ocean Nutrition flake (forumla 1 & 2, brine flakes & reef flakes) I feed frozen brine, lobster eggs, cyclops & cockel. Also feed live brine when I can get it.

Anything else I can do?

I had a Gramma like this it would be full of little spots one day then nothing for a week or so then it would all start over again. I eventually lost it after about 2 months, they do seem prone to getting whitespot. As Michael says its tail is starting to shred so it is about done for m8 sorry. Twiggy

Adam have a good read over this when you have some spare time. From the look of the gramma i would say it's a bacterial problem (although i'm no vet). Keep feeding as you are but less food more often if you can. So if you have the time half the amount of food and double the amount of times you give it.

All the others were like this apart from the tail shredding. Its been like this for a few weeks now, firstly 1 fin started shredding and I thought it was going to croak! but then it grew back!! Now the tail is starting, all other fish are happy and healthy now!!! A couple have the odd flick against a rock now n again. Will incease the feeding times and see what happens.

Will have a read of that when I get chance Neil, cheers.
