2 of my 10 lyretail anthias have decided to change from female to male. At first I thought there was a large female turning to a male and the 2nd largest female becoming the boss of the rest (dominant female). But today there is deffo a colour change on both... Arghhhh.

Thoughts anyone?

in a large shoal, would have thought they would be fine. one will become the dominant male and one the sub-dominant. so long as they have enough females each i would think they would be fine, and i would have thought that 4 females each would be spot on. i think one of mine is on the "turn" got two females not so long back and you can see them sorting out the heirarchy. the only thing i would look out for is one male pestering the other male to the point where it isn't allowed out to feed and starves.

I have 2 male Huthchis and one hides all the time the other is out all the time, usually Squamps have about 4 females to each male so i wuld not bother unless they start fighting. Twiggy
