here are some pics of my tank which i setup in dec 06 this is my first marine tank and i am still a novice all comments welcome
aqua 1 620 90litres tank
2 18w blue/white pl bulbs
1 oc clown
1 royla grama
1 chromis
6 blue legged hermits
african bush coral
toadstool leather
mushroom rock

Nice rock stucture but need to get that hair algae shifted! :D

May I suggest the Mexican Re Tip Hermit :D

how long are the lights on for, as hair algae loves blue light

im gonna stick my neck out here, and say id suggest james' blue legs

because if you pull the hair algae out, blue legs eat the spores that hair algae grows from, tell me im wrong james!

not that ive seen james' legs lol

lights are on for 12 hours a day been pulling the algae off by hand when it gets to long did a 15% water change on saturday when would you recommend the next one

imo id go for 8/9 hours a day for the lights, as for water change...depends on your test readings(nitrates, po4 etc) if alls well, 10% every two weeks or 5% weekly whatever suits you best.

thanks for the info steve what time do your lights come on and what time do they go off. start work at 8 and get home 5 i still want to see the tank lit up. does it matter what time of the day they come on and go off.

i dont think so, my lights come on mid afternoon, so i can see the tank lit up in the evening. lighting times around 2 till 10 with actinics an hour either side

Nice Set-up Hedgehog.

You can run you lights at a time to suit you, as long as the length of time they are on is still pretty natural. Mine doo not come on untill 3 in the afternoon so I can enjoy the tank at night when I get home.

They go off between 11 and midnight.

thanks for all the nice comments wasnt sure on the rockwork myself but you guys have convinced me to keep it that way wot are the best colourful softie corals ne1 :) and what are the best net sites to order from
