HI all, If you already have a maroon clown in your tanks can you then put a breeding pair in

Almost certainly no , if the maroon is a large female I wouldn't even think about it , if it's smaller than the new couple it will almost certainly lose the inevitable battle , just my opinion of course , that's assuming the breeding pair are maroons?

I didnt think so. So if you had a maroon and say u bought a breeding pair of black clowns how would that fair???

if the maroon is the smallest fish you might get away with it especially if the tank is a large one , I wouldn't risk it and if its a small tank < 4ft definite no no imo

You could try adding another maroon but it would have to be an unsexed juvenile or recently widowed male around half the size of the one you have , 5 .2.2 should give it plenty of hiding places but there's no guarantee it won't be murdered

We have just added a maroon pair to the tank they are so beautiful, The female is slightly bigger than the male so my dad is goin to order a reef safe anenomie for the cuteys :):):)

Completely agree-even if they aren't maroons i think it would bbe ww3.
