Just looking through some pics on my camera and came across this i noticed it was the only two pics that i took of corals at the deep (last november). Not "dissin" the Deep (love to go see the fish) but there is room for improvement on the coral side. (sorry about the quality of the photographs but there is room for improvement in my camera equipment)
If anyone else has seen this tank, you may like to know who built it  Well, it was Marine Tech :) Thought people may like to know that bit of info. The Deep maintain it though. ;)

i worked at the deep for about 15months, when the twilight zone was built. had alot to do with the organising and liasing with the first phase too, so i got to know alot about the place, on one of my many saunters round the place i asked why they were not many corals (only one small show tank)
so heres your answer! only 1 in 10 corals survives its natural life span outside the coral reef, and with 1000 manmade corals in the lagoon area alone they would have to strip quite an area of the coral reef to match the survival rate. im sure you know the deep is a massive place and the lagoon is only a small area in comparison with the rest of the place.
just to add i worked with the marine tech gang on there too, while Richard was drawing up the plans for the shop.
a few pix too
