Hi due to the fall in numbers that attend Reef Meets i have decided that i wont be running it any more as its a waste of my time and effort trying to organise it all. If any one else feels they would like to do it please have a go. Twiggy:jump:

Sorry to hear that Eric, I would still like to attend these every quarter or so if someone decides to take up the gauntlet and gets the Yorkshire Reef Meets going again.

I am sure other will too. Every month was just too much IMO.

Why not have a mini, autumn one, a mini winter and spring one, and a big over night summer one :clap:

We used to have some good turn outs when it first started but just lately i think people are getting lazy. Derek and Ken both travel over 100 miles to my house then on to Simply Seahorses and others out that way and nobody else seems bothered, they say they are coming and a day before they cry off with a lame excuse like the cats having Kittens or something. I am sick of wasting my time i might as well just sit at home and play with my tank as try and waste time running it. Twiggy:jump:

Eric sorry to hear this, not sure how much time would be needed to do a quaterly one but it would be less hastle. I agree compared to the visits we had at reefranch at the start numbers have dwindled.

Any member want to put their 2 pennys worth to this thread?

I personally just dont have the time to do one every month.. Sorry. Also think this recession has had a factor on this isuue too.

Its not a matter of been lazy...dont think people have the time to attend one every month as i said before reason i dont attend is the weekend is the only time i spend good time with the family or attend footy etc. Also i think the hobby as dwindled in numbers as well. its all well and good people attending that live far away hats off to them if there that much into the hobby but i aint at minute so thats my excuse. I know eric as put effort into this but maybe as said not so many might be better in the long run

I agree short of cash family commitments and the like but I would love to see you carry on Eric I for one will try harder to get to more meets maybe Macca is right and a longer space in between is needed,

I would of gone to the Fit visit on sat but it was moved and I have a prior arrangement for the new date but would love to go on any in October,

If the meets become popular they can always be changed from every quarter to bi monthly for example.

Not being cheeky but a lot of members have young families and other commitments and to ask for them to attend every 4th weekend is far too much IMHO.

i attend when i can unfortunatly reef meets always fall when im on call and when they dont the meets are always far away like at simply seahorses which cost me £40 in fuel round trip wouldnt like to see the meets stop though as i think there an important part of the forum, maybe we should try a night meet at a pub or something to break the ice with new members in a cenral location?

well things like visits to the deep what chris was organising certainly got the attention of members and there might be a pub local afterwards. Its an orange juice for me mind.

John i am not having a go at you or anyone else, what ****************es me of is every body who says yes i will be there and then they never turn up. I feel so embarrassed when i and the gang are stood around waiting for members to turn up and then we end up going after waiting 2 or 3 hours when we could have gone else where.I know folk have busy lives but they can be organised and if they say they are going at least have the guts to turn up, not leave Derek and Ken and myself stood waiting trying to say to the host any excuse i can why no body has turned up. Anyway someone else can have a go i am finished with it. Twiggy:jump:
