Just after lights on this morning, noticed this little fella scuttling under a rock. He's about 20mm across and pale in colour. Should I get rid or not? I have 3 peppermint shrimps and don't want them disappearing!

Thanks, Chris.

Hi Chris. If in doubt at all with any crabs i always take them out and put them in the sump until i can ID them. The one you have looks like it could be a teddy bear crab as it looks like it as hairs on it, i might be mistaken though as my eyes are'nt as good as they were. Take it out and try and get a better pic of it on a piece of white paper so it shows up. HTH. Eric

Teddy bear crabs have far more hair on them, Black clwas on this fella tell me he is an xandiae species crab. A naughty we ******. Please comfirm by checking the tips of his claws. My guess is they will come to a sharp point - A meat eater!

If i see him again I will catch him... no sump, so will have to be "disposed of"
