Hi just wondered what corals will be suitable for my tank, its 120 ltr, 18 inch depth.

Lighting is 2x t8 30" 25w one blue, one marine white 2 x t5 34" 39w, again one blue one marine white (all arcadia bulbs)

Flow, have koralia 1 each end of tank and spraybar from external.

I bought some Green Star Polyps from LFS and they are doing brilliantly, even new ones growing.

Could i keep the toadstool type coral as i like these? Any other suggestions?

Thanks

Chris

you'd be fine with most soft corals. Toadstool leather, Mushroom's, Medusa's..

Agree.

zoanthids, mushrooms and leathers should be ok.

you'll be able to support a host of softies without any troubles. Try ricordia mushrooms or branching leathers, like Kenya trees.
They'll add lots of colour and movement.

Thanks for the replies guys, sadly my T5's stopped working last night, put it down to the ballast (Hagen GLO) so ordered a new one, so when they back on will get buying some more corals! I couldnt return the ballst as i already cut the wires to extend the leads to the bulbs unfortunatley, i did strip the unit apart out of interest and looks like quite cheap components inside, obviously made cheap in China.

just thought id mention the length of cable from the ballast to the end cap is predetermined and has a maximum length normally around .5 of a meter you shoudnt add past this as it can cause problems HTH

Good point, i only extended them prob 30cm, mmmm

They worked perfect for a week then nothing...

I presumed that these new electronic ballast could sense the resistance of the bulb circuit and adapt accordingly, like how one ballast can do either 2 x 39w or 2 x 24w by sensing the resistance. Maybe not?
