hi :) all i joined here a few days ago iam from redcar cleveland iam a big boro fan,no jokes please i know we suck lol
i have a 4' tank lighting 2x250 watt 10000k halides,2 external power filters,prizim protein skimmer,40kg of living rock a mixture of soft corals not much livestock at moment not bought any for ages as i intend to setup a new tank in the next few months.
i also love to snorkel have been to some great places maldives and red sea it's a real buzz watching marine life in there natural habitat.
p.s. only wished i'd found out about this place earlier

Wecome to the site mfcfan.Which island did you visit in the Maldives?We went to Kuredu in 1996,diving was out this world.Been to Eilat too for a few reef dives.
There is plenty of info from a lot of members and they do not bite too:)

cool yeah i was at kuredu in 2004 also been to 2 other islands had a bash at the diving but could not manage it so if you were there in 96 iam guessing that was pre el nino?

The diving can be a struggle at times in open water and which instructor you get.
I took my advanced OW out there,was pretty hard tbh,especially the compass/navigation test.All i wanted to do was observe the fish and coral:)
Kuredu has been completely re vamped since i went.

:) maldives sure is a speical place would have loved the diving no doubt
