i found these on my live rock that i put in my new tank last night, im not sure if they are sponge or tunicates, on closer inspection they are about the size of a broad bean with a hole in the middle, and what looks like root, any ideas please. Here are a few pics.

I think it is a nuisance sponge. James will verify this.:)

If its a sponge, I would have thought exposing them to air would kill them??

manual - removes very easy. If you dont remove it will smother your corals in time.

Thought so, it looked the same as the 1 you pointed out to me James.

They were out of water for 2 &half hours when i picked the live rock up from south london, thats why i didnt think 100% it was sponges.
O well looks like a long job for me today taking them of by hand:(
Thanks guys
Richard
i just had a thought at 7.14 on a sunday mornin:eek:
Wouldnt my queen angel eat them when i finally get her in the tank, as they are sponge eaters?

Hi Richard. You could be right there give it a try and see it will save you the trouble. Butterflys also eat sponges as well if its going in a FO tank it wont matter if they nibble at something else. Eric
