Green Star Polyps dying off

I'm struggling to work out what I'm doing wrong for one of my corals. I have a fairly big colony of green star polyps but they are gradually fading away.

What do they prefer? strong flow and bright light?

Anything else that they might not be happy about? calcium levels etc?

My tank is all softs and params are nice and steady for nitrite, PH, phos etc. nitrates are a little high at 25 which I hope to reduce with my fuge.

I feed with corals weekly with freeze dried cyclopeeze but don't target feed any of them. Is there something else I would be better using to feed them, and should I try target feeding these stars?

Have attached a pic to give an idea of where they are in the tank. I'm not struggling with any other corals, including xenia and yellow polyps which I think are a close relation to these.

Any thoughts appreciated as I would love to keep these and I know some actually struggle to keep the things in check.

can be strange corals these i have had problems before and to be honest never found owt why?

strange one this some people can keep them others cant i would make sure they have plenty of flow.

The corals you appear to have don't require target feeding, how much cyclopeeze do you put in at a time? This could be causing your nitrates.

Very little to be honest. I'm fully stocked though with fish and I keep trying to feed a little less. Think I'll get it in check. This shouldn't be hurting the polyps though should it?

I don't feed mine, but have found they do like light but not too much flow, just enough to move them a little.

i have plauge proportions of gsp and to be honest theres nowhere i cant get it to grow BUT in my tank it flourishes in high flow areas, i had a patch fade away and in the end i put this down to shading from another coral! whats your lights like due for a change?

Nah, lights have only been running for 2-3 months. It remains to be seen whether the higher flow now might bring them back. Might try targeting them with a little food to try and boost them.
