I did ask for rules to be drawn up but it seemed very unclear as to who was responsible for them when I first took over as co-ordinator of TOTM,

At the moment we struggle to get nominations in for TOTM so I think any nomination and any new member should be allowed to take part in competitions,

I will chat with the mods on the rules mix up?, pm me if ness

I would also agree with Piglet and suggest we let this run it's course as it would seem Petty to penalize a member for being nominated,

certainly not a dig at any individual, and certainly not a blue brother at that. Just my opinion that it would be nice for active members to be rewarded with sponsor prizes.

Here are the rules as I understand them.

"Rules for TOTM starting from January 2008
1. Any person nominated must have contributed to the site whilst being a member.

2. All can vote and Nominate (makes it more interesting)

3. With your Nomination please put a pic or link up to that tank.

4. The nominee can decline his/hers nomination (ie not to good with pics and a write up,or they think they hav'nt contributed enough to the site)

5. Any winner should put forward there write up and pics within 7 days of winning the TOTM.

6. A prize will be sorted out during the nomination process, either by sponsers or frags from members.

just read this thread,didnt realise my tank was in this,thought it was like the other sites i visit,ie you put yourself forward....
as it seems to be putting a downer on the competion can i be removed?

if not i will not be claiming the prize as i do feel that it shouldnt go to a newbie,i would of contributed to the forum if i had access to the internet but shortly after joining my laptop f##ked up...

hi all;)
heres a little bit more info about my tank ,the tanks 9x3x33" and has now been running 20 months,this was an upgrade from a 7ft and is the 4th tank ive kept..

i carried over all the rock i had and a few fish,there was also 3 sps originally back then,over the 1st year ive added more rock and now have around 700kg,theres 200kg of coral sand/play sand mix in the tank,ive also got 100kg of the same mix in the dsb tank and frag tank in the sump shed

the sump shed has 9 tanks ,this has been extended 3 times ,started with 4 but had trouble with micro bubbles being pumped back into main tank,im running a sequence 15k return pump which turns the tank around 6 times per hour,ive now also a 7ft frag tank in there,total system volume is around 6500lts..
the equipment list
deltec 1004 skimmer
deltec calcium reactor 1001
deltec phos reactor 1016
4 coralvue 400watt ballasts [these power tank lights]
2 marine lux 250watt ballasts [frag tank]
230 watts of white light[t5's] cheato tanks[3 of these]
3kw heater
titan 2000 chiller and 5 fans

the main tank has 300watts of actinics and fiji purple ,to colour the tank nicelt as im running 10k halides ,im running 3 closed loops 15k and 2x 10k,theres also 4 tunzes which gives me 55x turnover when they all run together,most of the day its around 30x..
ive 80 fish and you can spot them quicker than i can list:p

as for problems,ive had 2 kh crashes both gas related,and the tank is in a conservatory which during last summer ,the sun/lights burnt the tips on some corals,this has now been fixed by lining the roof
