here's my Perc90 work in progress. I'll try to update this thread when I can. Progress may be a little slow as i'm moving house so the house move obviously comes first. By-product of moving house is the Perc90, having the new tank will aid stock transfer from my old system.

The Perc90 is currently in storage until the move (around mid May). Being in storage has given me a chance to clean it up and do a few planned modifications. anyway, without further adoo pictures, I know everyone likes pictures! :D

Here's the tank after first cleaning.

black background is a little dirty still, some hard shelled dried on critters I sanded down a bit. I left them on there as I figured they'd make a bit of a rough surface for what follows.

Priority modification is the background, I wanted it blue. So I sets out to my local PVC supplier (not that kind of PVC supplier you filthy animals!!)
I managed to source some blue acrylic PVC perspex stuff and set about drilling holes for the flow.

I obviously couldnt use the black circular grilles from the perc's background or it would look kinda silly. so I got the drill out and made these after lots of careful measuring and grid forming.

Siliconed the blue backgrounds in place. and we have a little something like this: Spot the difference :D

so far that's where i'm upto. I'll update as and when anything changes but as you can apreciate i'm gonna have a lot to do house wise so it may take me a while :D

Apologies for picture quality, tank is in storage in a sod of a place to get a decent pic :)

cheers guys.. Get the keys to the new house on Friday then it's all hands on deck decorating and making the house habitable for us all. tank is going to be the last thing to move over on the weekend of the 16th if all goes to plan.

I'd like to add a sump at a later date but I just need to get the system up and running first, the stock safely transferred and then concentrate on finishing the house and garden before I mess with the tank. I have an overflow box from my existing system that I can use but my smaller sump that I already have is 18"x12" and the cabinet measures up for an 18"x10" doh!.. Anyone got a spare 18"x10" tank kicking around that I can make a mini sump out of? :D cant see them costing too much from somewhere tho'

I have glued some 90deg bends to tubing to enable me to angle the flow from the pumps in the right hand chamber but just looking at it I might change one or both of these to a 45deg. thinking of swapping out the aqua medic things for my Maxijet1200's (they seem just a touch smaller and slightly more powerful and they'll do me for now) The main centre return i'll switch to my Newjet1700 split on a T after it leaves the main chamber. Anyone know if you can get 26mm Y's? I might 90 it so the flow is facing upwards and Y it to split the flow a little and see how it goes. (I like my surface movement). On the left side i'm going to have my Nanostream which should be the only pump on show but I might see if I can hide this further down the back i've not decided yet. should give me 23x turnover.

I'm going to add a light around the back and transfer over my chaeto, bit concerned on the reports of pump clogging by bits breaking off and not sure how i'm going to overcome this as yet.

Any Percula guys reading this have you stood your tank directly on the stand or used any polystyrene between them? I've always used a couple of Poly tiles on my previous 2 tanks but this tank fits more flush to the base.

Never used polystyrene on my old per 120. No need.

thought i'd update with a bombshell :D I've decided i'm going to keep my old tank! so i'm going to sell this before it's even got wet. My old tank has more "floor space" inside and generally just has a better "look" than this Perc. Plus i'm going to upgrade the sump.

So.. Anyone want to buy a slightly modded Perc90 ? :D
