The Schuran jet stream 1 is an excellent bit of kit and very easy to use. There seems to be plenty of people downsizing and selling SPS kit in these recent times so you should be able to get one for reasonable money.

The basics are using Co2 to create an acidic environment within the reactor to disolve coral media releasing calcium into the water which is then utilised by the coral. You can control the level of Co2 using a controller although I don't use one instead I monitor calcium and pH of the tank.

I've got a Korallin Ca reactor and it's pretty good and easy to set up.

I get 30dKH out of mine - 2 bubbles every ten seconds.

With the PH probe and solenoid working I should be able to bump that up a bit.

I've heard the Schuran's are a better reactor (but I think they cost more).

Definatley try and get one second hand. :D
