Hello everyone, :) :)

I have been reading this forum for some time but only just plucked up the courage to start posting, probably because I am a woman and in the minority when it comes to keeping fish.

I have a 125 gallon reef tank that I have had for about two and a half years which is a fit filtration tank.

I have kept many types of soft corals and just started with a few lps and sps but not sure if I will be successful with the sps as only have twin 150 metal halides?

Have made loads and loads of mistakes since I started but luckily up to now have not had any major disasters (fingers crossed).

I visit Roy's at Interfish quite regulary as this is the best place for me and have been to most within a 100 mile radius of Sheffield.

Anyway, thats about it but here's a list of the fish I am currently keeping:-

Moorish Idol
Potters Angel
Solar Fairy Wrasse
2 clown in a rbta
Scooter blenny
Algea Blenny
Pygmy Possum Wrasse
Red Sea Mimic Blenny

Various hermit crabs, snails etc.

Will be visiting Roy's on Saturday and probably spending a fortune (again)

Marine29.

Don't wory we are a very friendly bunch on here.

Are you going to the Yrkshire reef club meet then at 11 on saturday @ interfish?

You can get a proper introduction to everyone there.

A big welcome to you. I wish that there were more like you who can pluck up courage to have a go on our forum. As you can see for yourself, we are just really helpful, either that or we just don't have any other friends :D :D :D

Hi there, hope you enjoy it here!
Thats a cracking fish list you have. The Moorish Idol is a cracking fish, I heard they were difficult to keep and feed, how do you get on with it?

Thanks, the Moorish Idol is a really great fish, have had him for about 9 months now so keeping my fingers crossed! Feeds on most foods, frozen, flake, pellet. May have to get a bigger tank though as he grows. Have had one before but only lasted a few weeks and was told most likely that it was due to the way it was caught (cyanide or something, not sure). Thought I would try once more and ok up to now. When I first got him I started off on Reef Gel which he took straight away then, moved onto frozen, brine, mysis, cockle. I have also been feeding with the spectrum range of pellets which it recommends on that American site to feed them with but he is not keen. Have just started over the past couple of weeks on the New Era range of foods and he loves them. As you can probably tell I am quite passionate about the Moorish Idol and have done plenty of reading up on them, I just want to give it a good chance of surviving.

We'll just have to see!

Hello, yes he is feeding like a pig. Feeds on brine, mysis, cockle, mussel but just started with the New Era foods which he loves also. I also give him a bit of seaweed each day but he is by far the most greediest fish in the tank. What do you feed your's on?

Might see you saturday, do you know if it is upstairs in Roys or what?
