Hi Callum. If i were you get the new mce 300 from Deltec they are good skimmers, based on the mce 600 but just smaller. The TMC ones are not that good IMO we had some at Aquarius and they were replaced by Deltec APF 600s which pull loads out. Eric

Given the choice I would go for the deltec every time.

I have seen the TMC skimmers and IMO they give a very low concentration of bubbles and hence have a limited skimming capability.

Just out of interest, have you thought about a second hand mce600?

You can count the bubbles on the TMC unit

Have you set it up as a hang on skimmer, or have you installed it in a cabinet? Let me know how you get on, as my DIY skimmer is starting to spring a couple of small leaks and I want to get a proper one!

i have installed it outside the tank eskimoigloo

i think the only problem is most of the rubbish collects outside the collection cup rather then inside it

HI eskimoigloo I have just installed a MCE600 into my tank (Hang on the side). If it helps you out, you can come and have a look. I live near you, in Beverley.
