View Full Version : My 4x2x2 Upgrade
Just collected my new (used) tank yesterday. Got a 36x12x18 2 section sump with it, stand and a couple of powerheads and return pump. Spent the night yesterday from 10pm till 3am cleaning tank and sorting through stuff that Steve123 give me with it. Today I am on with cleaning sump out, washing down all powerheads and return pump. Then I am ahving to rearrange my front room to accomodate my new tank. :D Thought I would post some pics of my various steps through this exciting journey.

looking much better after a clean, nice one seg!
Ok, so got the sump cleaned yesterday, and the tank into position, with much worrying about the weight issues. Our lass also expressed her opinions about the size of it all. Anyway got the main drain to the sump down half way to the sump, just need to get a length of pipe from shop to finish that part. Return pipe being fitted in place today. patched cabinet front panels up for time being due to a breakage collecting and bringing in the house, but going to redo the whole look of the cabinet. started to put water in aswell, going to fill in quater tank intervals to keep my eye on weight. Could also do with getting some more water, but I am open to donations, lol, :stickpoke:. So got some more pics, and will post some more when it is filled.

its getting there.:):)

Hopefully I might be able to get it all stained at the weekend. Going for some trim later, then finish the hood off.:D:D:D Surely the missus must be happy now. :D:D:D
Ok, so i got the trim this morning. Cut it to size. Going to put the hood together today. As you can see from the photos, the hood is positioned and held in place by cellotape, just to get a feel of how it looks. The hood will be just a basic 3 sides and a strut across the back so it can be easily modified when I decide on what lighting will be used later on. I think it is coming together nicely now.
Just a quick pic of how the redesign of the tan and stand is going. Any comments on the before and present welcome. :D
Still got the hood to finish, beading to put on and the doors to get.
