i have a soft finger coral under my trumpet and it has grown that much its touching the trumpet. is it causing the trumpet to go white like it is in the pic.

quite possibly some of the leather corals can cause problems when they shed muchus onto a hard coral or it could be caused by simply touching the coral.i would definately move one of them to see if it stops the problem.derek

do you run carbon at all?some times the softies can affect lps from the other side of the tank due to a chemical toxin released into the water,carbon can take this out of the water.hth regards mikk

yeah i use carbon. 1 week in 4. this pic was taken last week since then a little of the brown has started to come back. at first i thought it might have something to do with the lights so i shorten the lights by a hour and half. looks like it might be. lets see how it is in a week.
